Turtles

The Ocean Society's Sea Turtle Curriculum was written by 24 dynamic K-12 teachers, all of whom "Love to teach Turtles", 1 high school student, and 3 scientists whose speciality is Sea Turtles. Many of these teachers have themselves volunteered their summers working with various Sea Turtle Projects around the country. The curriculum consists of a series of fact sheets and supported by K-12 activities. The fact sheets are written on a level that all grade level teachers can understand and can either be used as background by the teacher or Xeroxed and given to middle and high school students to read. The activities are all written according to the scientific method and include a purpose, list of materials needed, a step-by-step procedure, observations, and conclusions. The beauty of the activity pages is that they are "ready" for the student. No re-typing is necessary, just copy them and use them. Another beauty of these activities is that they are hands-on and they all work!!! The teachers who wrote them use them in their own classrooms and they are fun! This curriculum makes the muched loved and endangered Sea Turtle come alive for the students.
